Amazing Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

Amazing Stuffed Cabbage Rolls. Tender leaves of cabbage stuffed and rolled with beef, garlic, onion and rice, simmered in a rich tomato sauce.
Cabbage Rolls
  • 1 large head green cabbage, about 2 to 2¼ pounds
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 2 eggs (not necessary, you can leave them out)
  • 1 medium onion, grated or minced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup raw long-grain white rice
Tomato Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter or vegetable oil
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 medium onion,  chopped (medium dice)
  • 2 15-ounce cans tomato sauce or one 32-ounce can whole tomatoes, pulsed in a food processor with juice until pureed.
  • juice of one lemon
  • 1/3 to 3/4 cup light brown sugar (depending on amount of sweetness you prefer, unless you prefer it completely savory.  In that case, add only 1 tablespoon brown sugar and the juice from half a lemon)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ cup golden raisins (optional)
  • Chopped parsley, for garnish

    1. Ingredientes
      Rolls de col
      1 col verde grande cabeza, alrededor de 2 a 2 ¼ libras
      2 libras de carne picada
      2 huevos (no es necesario, puede dejarlos fuera)
      1 cebolla mediana rallada o picada
      2 dientes de ajo picados
      2 cucharaditas de sal
      1 cucharadita de pimienta negra
      ½ taza de arroz blanco de grano largo crudo
      Salsa de tomate
      2 cucharadas de mantequilla o aceite vegetal
      1 diente de ajo finamente picado
      1 cebolla mediana, picada (dados medianos)
      2 latas de 15 onzas de salsa de tomate o una de 32 onzas puede tomates enteros, pulsado en un procesador de alimentos con jugo hasta puré.
      Jugo de un limón
      1/3 a 3/4 taza de azúcar moreno claro (dependiendo de la cantidad de dulzura que prefiera, a menos que usted prefiera completamente salado En ese caso, agregue sólo 1 cucharada de azúcar moreno y el jugo de medio limón)
      Sal y pimienta para probar
      ½ taza de pasas doradas (opcional)
      Perejil picado, para decorar
